How to create a marketing machine
Do you know that now with the available tools you can create a marketing machine by just using your phone?
How?
It’s easy…
Through the power of VIDEO!
This is a step-by-step guide, so you can create your marketing machine!
I want to let you know that straight away, this is a strategy that is not a quick fix. It is also completely up to you the type of content that you provide!
Part 1 Start your machine:
Creating long-form content can seem overwhelming at first, but when you sit down and plan, it can be incredibly powerful. Take the elephant and break it down into small bites. Record for one hour, but break it down into four parts. 15 minutes of content that goes deep on one subject. You now have a framework to make your videos.
Step 1 - What you need to do is determine what type of content you want to produce.
Is it a “how to” video?
Are you introducing a concept?
Are you going to interview someone?
There are several different types of content videos that you can use; it’s all in your hands!
Step 2 - You need to write out the content.
If you are doing a “how to” video, you need to map out what are the four or five steps that they can follow to help your target audience. These will be your 15-minute content sections. Which allows you to drop a video a week for YouTube. In the beginning, you need to have them like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell. Remember the purpose of producing content. The purpose is to produce list leads. So you need to make that at the end of each video you need to have a call to action. Something like "go to our website", "get a free assessment call", or "get a free PDF download." I am speaking from experience. You need to have these written down so you remember.
Step 3 - Shoot the content
There are two major things that you need to pay attention to when you are shooting.
The first is lighting. Make sure the main thing to remember is that the camera on your phone, or maybe you are super fancy, and you have a real camera, that interprets light. So if the light is in your background your face won’t show, but if you are facing the light the camera sees your wonderful face.
The second thing is to focus on the audio! People will forgive bad videos, we have all been in a Zoom meeting with the guy whose video is terrible (I am that guy). But what the human brain can’t stand is terrible audio. The ears are sensitive for a reason. So dial in the audio. Amazon has some great options!
Step 4 - Edit your content.
There are a ton of YouTubers that can walk you through editing, and as far as software is concerned, use da Vinci from black magic. It is free and it is a quality editing software. Once you are done, export and load it on YouTube.
Step 5 - Choose your thumbnail.
Not your right or left thumbnail, but the one you are going to load on YouTube. It’s really important that your thumbnail has to do with the subject of the video.
Step 6 - think about the copy of the Video Description
Take your time and think about how to hook your audience in. The title is the most important… it’s worth taking time. If you are stuck, use ChatGPT. Rarely will people read the description, but YouTube will use it to help drive traffic to your site.
Step 7 - Publish
This is the easiest part: launch your video and track what it does.
Part 2: Get on the starting line
This is where the machine begins. This is where the system will kick into place. The funny thing about video is that it can be broken down into several short-form contents.
Step 1 - Short form
Now you need to pick the best “one-liners” from your videos. Things that are inspiring will be clips that you can post and get attention. Use your social media outlets Facebook stories, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok. But this is just the beginning.
Step 2 - re-post
Re-post your videos on your personal Facebook, your business Facebook, your business page, your website, any groups you may belong to, Pinterest, and that awkward platform that no one knows what to do with, LinkedIn.
Part 3: Tear it all down
Video is such a versatile tool. It is NOT a cure-all, but it acts a lot like wd-40 or duct tape. What do I mean by “tear it all down?” While we have covered several marketing channels, we need to focus on all of your channels. The next thing we need to do is take the audio and rip it from the video. We are going to take that audio and repost it as a podcast. A podcast? Yes, a podcast. Again, this is all about getting attention. Do it! Leverage all the platforms you can. You post using Pod bean or other free services. Not only that, but studies show that the top Podbean listen to podcasts.
Finally, take that video and load it into a transcript service. I would recommend rev.com, they are reliable and SUPER easy to use. This now gives you a blog that you can use to post on your website that brings visibility to your website using SEO. You will have to take your time
Part 4: Take it to the mechanic
The point of all of this is to drive leads. Leads are what you will use to drive sales. So you will need to be prepared to capture that lead. You can use a spreadsheet, or the best solution is to have a CRM.
There are also some metrics you need to follow up on, you need to keep track of which video they come from. What are the 1-month, 3-month, and 6-month metrics of that video? How many website views have you had? What is the conversion rate of those who land on your website? This is all to help you diagnose what is working and what is not. If people land on your website and immediately leave, then there is something wrong with your website.
